30 GB iPod, Freezes whenever I play video

I've played video on my iPod flawlessly for the last year, but now it freezes up whenever I try to play video. It plays music fine, and I've restarted, reinstalled, ect. Anyone have any ideas?

I have a 60 GB 5G iPod with the same problem. I think it has to do with iTunes 7 but haven't been able to confirm with Apple. They haven't responded to my direct questions. Any video I play, all purchased from iTunes, crashes after a couple of minutes on the iPod.

Perhaps the 7.3 update will fix this....I fear the software team has been working on the iPhone and not fixing these sorts of issues...

I have had the same issue for months and now it seems the only way I can play videos is to create them in Handbrake and NOT to download them from I tunes. I posted this messae a number of weeks ago:

I have a 60 GB 5th Generation IPod. Downloaded Season 5 of 24 from ITunes Store and was unable to load them on Ipod unless I updated to Software Version 1.2.1. Did that. Loaded videos.

Go to play the first episode and it freezes. Needs to be restarted. Freezes again in the same place. Can fast forward past the place that it freezes and let it play. Freezes again...in a new place..and will continue to freeze in the same places. Restored to earlier verion of software but would not let me load the downloaded videos. Restored to 1.2.1 and only loaded a few episodes (wipe my IPod clean of everything else.) Still same problem.

By the way, the same files play fine on my computer (not my Ipod), just fine.

I downloaded and PAY for a new file of Season 5 Episode 1 and guess what...it freezes at the exact same place. Try to tell Apple that there is a problem with my file and they tell me they are sorry that I am having trouble with my file but to check the online forums. So I did...and guess what..

LOTS of people are having trouble with ITunes and video files freezing on 5th Generation IPods.... so whats the deal? I can't go back to previous versions of the software and I have $ 40 worth of downloads that don't play..

Will Apple admit there is a problem or is there a fix here that I'm missing?
