same thing happens to me. the little triangle blinks in my dock for a few seconds and then stops. clicking it from the application folder just makes the icon do that zoomy thing and then does nothing.
What exactly happens when you try to launch iTunes? Is there any sort of error message when you attempt to launch iTunes, or does it simply not display any error message at all?
If there is a message, then please quote what it says.
...the little triangle blinks in my dock for a second or two and then ...nothing!
...clicking the icon in the application folder - nothing happens...
...grrrr
Hey…
Had the same pb on my MBP Core Duo…
I cleared it by reinstalling Safari 2 instead of version 3,
reinstalling quicktime and then iTunes 7.3.
everything work properly now…
I have deleted my iTunes library file too,
but I don't think it changed anything.
I haven't resintalled Safari 3 yet but I'll try to set it up later.
Hope it'll help you.
Bye…
exact same problem here. I installed via software update, then iTunes wouldn't launch, it would bounce in the dock, and then the black identifying triangle would appear. Then the triangle disappears and the program never launches. I tried to "upgrade" it via the iTunes 7.3 download on apple's site. Still no luck. Tried multiple restarts, log outs... no idea.
Ditto to everyone. Same problem here. Thought it was a PPC problem so installed update on my intel MBP, same prob there. I am going to try to get rid of safari 3 now.
You can fix this by disabbling iTunes from the ShapeShifter applications list. Do this by going to System Prefs->Other->Shapeshifter->Exclude List->and then add iTunes.
...with the download of that version you've got a deinstallation-pgm as well...
...if you have deleted the download - just download version 3 again and use the de-install...
