Docking Phone Causes PC to Reboot!!!!

already have 3 ipod, but when ahead an reinstalled with the latest version of itunes. pluged iphone docking station into usb port and as soon as i seated the phone into the docking station...poof...the computer reboots itself.

gateway, windows xp..

fabulous.. anyone else have this problem??

The same thing is happening to me! I am wondering if it is due to Intel Duo Core Extreme processor. I am going to try on my Gateway laptop to see if I can duplicate the issue. I will keep you posted on what I find.

I know that the Intel motherboards for these processors are very ANAL when it comes to USB devices consuming too much power.

one thought would be to check your USB root hubs in your device manager and make sure the "allow the computer to turn this device off to save power" is NOT checked. That's not the option verbatim, but it's pretty close, and i've seen it cause scores of strange problems.
