unable to find bluetooth devices

iPhone cannot seem to find any bluetooth devices, any one else have this problem? We would like to take photos off one phone and put them on iPhone by way of Bluetooth.

I'm fairly certain Apple has crippled the bluetooth file transfer capabilities on the iPhone. They have rarely, if ever mentioned it, and are making us use iTunes to control what files we move to and from our iPhones. Technically, the iPhone has the necessary hardware to handle bluetooth transfers, but again, I'm pretty sure Apple has crippled it.

It's a shame, because Cingular/AT&T doesn't cripple the bluetooth file transfer capability on their other phones. Sprint and Verizon cripple it on all their phones so that they can force you into buying their ringtones and wallpapers.

Apple may be doing the same in regards to ringtones. I guess we'll all find out soon enough once Steve decides he's ready to heard us to the iTunes Store to graze in his meadow of ringtones.

The iPhone has BT profiles to connect to a mono headset, but not to sync/connect to another computer or connect to stereo headphones.

No one seems to be sure if this is something that can be added with software, and we certainly have no clue if they will even if they can.

Sorry I don't know more!

User uploaded fileIt took me a moment or two to work the Bluetooth connection to sync with my Belkin Headset but it works very well.

Transferring photos over should be an easy task and I've done it several times now. Prior to the arrival of the iPhone I had downloaded several screen photos and once the phone arrived pondered over how to get them on the phone?

It was easy: place them in a folder on your computer then go the the Photos tab and click the "sync photos from" [select the folder you put them in] and hit apply. Presto! The new screen photos were duplicated into the photos library of my iPhone.

So to add any photo should be the same. Take the photos off your old phone and move them to a folder on your computer then use iTunes to port them over to your iPhone.

And here is the 'humorous' thing. I can interact between my LGVX8700 and MBP to download movies, sounds, pix using Bluetooth.

But, as has been demonstrated above, the iPhone will not interact with my, did I say Apple?, MBP. Sweeeoooops!

And just why do I have a new LG VX8700 in addition to my iPhone...because of ATT's sucky service...can't depend upon it for mission critical use.

two steps forward, one back...
