WIFI and DIR-655

If I have WPA or WPA2 enabled on my Dlink DIR-655 router the iPhone will not connect to it. It works fine if I turn security off but does not work at all with WPA or WPA2.

If anyone with this router has any better luck please let me know.

I was able to resolve this and at least get it work. Basically first I went to Settings | General | Reset. Then I told it to Reset the network settings. Then I went to Settings | Wifi and added my router manually using the "Other" option. This allowed me to set the security to WPA. After filling that out I tried to join (which will failed). When it failed I then selected the options for the network and put in a static IP address. Worked like a charm after that.

So to me it appears to have issues related mainly to DHCP.

Same router same problem... the DNS solution doesn't work, and doesn't make sense, it works if the security is off, so dns doesn't have anything to do with it. I will mess around with a static ip tomorrow. I have a static ip so maybe that will help, Apple needs to fix this, I will not turn off my security... My Wii works fine with security and it only cost 1/3 of the price of this phone!!!!

I have the same problem with my DIR-655. I tried setting up the account manually without success till I reduced the size of my pass phrase. I left the router set to automatically select WPA or WPA2 and manually selected WPA2 on the IPhone. My pass phrase was 19 characters long so I reduced it to 8 and had no problem. DHCP works fine and it will auto-connect whenever I am at home. I have a Linksys router at work that has a 16 character pass phrase and my IPhone works fine with it. I went back to the 19 character pass phrase on the D-Link and the IPhone fails. My VGN-A790 VAIO laptop connects using the 19 character pass phrase on the D-Link.
