Equivalent of Microsoft Publisher on Mac?

Occasionally on my PC, I use Microsoft Publisher. It's by no means a great program but one I have definitely become comfortable with. I'm looking to order a new MacBook Pro and wanted to know if there is something similar installed on OSX or even on MS Office for Mac (I know they don't have Publisher available). I use it to create greeting cards, flyers, newsletters, etc.

Oh, Mike have a got good news for you! I was a Publisher junkie! but i wanted to go off Windows and i have found that Pages didn't work for me- so try Print Explosion
( http://www.novadevelopment.com/products/us/pnm/default.aspx) and see if you like it!
I just installed it and it is better than Publisher- I am just one happy camper.
I went on to the discussion forum to see other people who were looking for something, like i was, so i am glad to respond to your post. go and enjoy!

There are a number of options available:

NeoOffice Aqua is a free open source application that is similar to Microsoft Office's basic applications: Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.

Apple's iWorks '06 can be purchased with the MacBook Pro and contains Pages and Keynote. Pages can read and save Word files.

ThinkFree Office is another Office-like package.

Papyrus is an integrated application with the features of Office.

And, there are several desktop publishing applications. You will find all of these at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
