iPhone for a 6-year-old? (need a fast response!)

Howdy,

my son has been patiently waiting for the iPhone up until it has been released. He wants one really really bad, but I refuse to get him this extremely expensive phone for him. He keeps whining and crying his eyes out and even draws the iPhone and then posts it all over my house!! He has seen the ads and I even had to print one of those origami ones to quiet him down for the moment. Anyway, should I get him one, is it safe for him and will he need my help to use it?
