Visual studio on Mac OS?

Hello, everyone, I'm new here. Now, I'm considering buying a small 13" macbook for daily usage. It seems the perfect compromise between mobility and performance especially when combined with a big external monitor at home.

I'm an IT student and there is however one program that I have to use in school(and probably my later professional life too), and it's visual studio. Can you get this working on apple pc's? Preferably ofcourse by not installing windows on it and dual booting... If this would be possible, I would have almost no reason not to switch over.
