WEP passphrase

I have a wrt54g Linksys wireless router and when I try and connect via iPhone with the WEP security enabled I get prompted for my password. Everytime I enter it I get a password error. I have changed the password a few times and I still can't get connected. When I turn off the WEP security on my router, I get connected fine. Is there a way to leave WEP security enabled but still get a connection through the iPhone?

i am having the same issue. And i do not feel like turning off my WEP so that all my neighbors can access my network. There has to be a way. I was at the apple store and accessed the wifi in an instant.

THIS WORKS

Try this…. Click on your Settings icon, then click on the Wi-Fi icon, then click the blue circle for the network you want to enter your WEP key for, then click on the “WEP Password” in the security window, then switch it to WEP hex or ASCII. You should sync right up.

Basic recap, change the login from “WEP Password” to “WEP hex or ASCII”.

This finally worked after having 2Wire trouble with both of my IPhones so maybe it will help. In the WiFI settings area enter password with the $ sign first for the WEP. When it wont accept it then hit the blue arrow so you can choose WEP or HEX. When you get there the WEP will have a check in front of it. Check the hex and then go back. Your password will still be there with the $ sign in it. Tap on the 2Wire now and you should be connected. I hope this helps. Although I have few skills at this I was able to get both IPhones going instantly after numerous attempts.
