the safari 1.1.1.1 trick

I hit a commercial 'free' wifi zone. My iPhone would log on, but I couldn't get it to 'login' page where the company splashs a full page ad, and waits for you to click the 'login' button.

I remembered a trick from long ago to force the browser to load a login page: direct it to http://1.1.1.1 which in this case it work.

So, a general 'how to' observation. If you are at a free wifi hotspot where the iPhone logs into the network but doesn't not actually have access (because the login process is not complete), try directing Safari to http://1.1.1.1 and see if that doesn't get you to the login page
