NO SOUND with Vista Ultimate x64

I have now tried the most recent and the one before that versions of iTunes and Quicktime and cannot get sound to play in videos in Quicktime (video plays without sound). I have tried repairing, uninstalling and re-installing, checked for updates the whole works. There is NO SOUND in Quicktime for Vista Ultimate x64. I am not the only one with this issue. Tried adjusting the settings and nothing.

It's unfortunate so many sites use .mov files.

PC Specs if this is needed:

AMD X2 3800+
Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe
Nvidia Geforce 7900 GT (latest Vista x64 drivers)
Creatige Audigy 2 (latest Vista x64 drivers)

I have tried everything I can think of but it appears to be only software related. Please fix the software.

PC, Windows Vista, Audigy 2 and Geforce 7900 GT

Well I see there is a new new version. You guys seem to pump these out every couple weeks at the moment. I will try that although I doubt anything has been fixed in this 7.2 version.

Also I have another problem and this also occured on Windows XP Pro (32 bit) as well and thought would have been fixed by now: any .mov file labeled as "HD" plays like crap. Half the time the video cuts out and goes black and then eventually the program hangs. On Vista it doesn't play at all back on Windows XP it would play the sound with a black screen or very, very choppy video, I used to have to play with the slider.

I have to say that the Quicktime format should NOT be any standard unless it works well. So far DivX and WMA seem to be a better playing format unless you guys get your software to work properly on the 90% of Windows based systems that are out in the world.

Well congrats to Apple for fixing the sound issue with the latest iTunes/Quicktime release. After uninstalling the old, rebooting and installing the latest version I now have sound in Quicktime .mov files both online (vewing trailers etc) and downloaded files.

Still one problem remains and that is with "high def" movies which unfortunately is the only option for some .mov files. They play terribly and I only have sound and broken up video that plays/displays sometimes but not all the time. Perfect example of this is the DungeonHero E32K7Trailer.mov from places like fileplanet. Not sure if this is an issue with the file or with the player. I have had this issue with otehr movies at times on both Vista 64 and XP Pro though.
