AppleMobileDeviceService.exe causing crash

Just upgraded to Win. iTunes 7.3 - when I try to change anything in preferences iTunes crashes with this error:

AppleMobileDeviceHelper.exe - Application Error
The instruction at :0x22211364" referenced memory at "0x22211364". The memory could not be "written"

I do not have an iPhone - I have repaired the installation, but I still get the error.

Alienware ALX, Windows XP Pro

If you don't have an iPhone, try heading into your Add/Remove programs and uninstalling "Apple Mobile Device Support".

Do you still get the crash after doing that?
