Error 100008 - Corrupt file message when downloading iTunes

I just got my video ipod, and when i went to download music on it at iTunes, every song (4 in total) that I tried to download failed to do so, but took my money. All I got was this message,

"There was a problem downloading 'I Walk the Line/ With His Hot and Blue Guitar/ Johnny Cash'
The file seems to be corrupted. To reload file, choose 'Check for Purchases' from Store menu."

I tried "Check for Purchases several times for each song, but I just got the same message each time. When i went to the Downloads screen there was this message besides each song.

0 KB of 2.6 MB - stopped (err = -100008)

Please help me. I don't want to have wasted my hard earned money on a useless iTunes card.

cosmini,

It is documented in the Apple Knowledgebase which can be searched at http://www.apple.com/support/

This article lists the site:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93434

As for ports, the store uses http and https which is port 80 and 443.

These articles discusses which applications need to be allowed to access the internet, such as when using Windows firewall:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=304082 (Windows XP specific)
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305484 (Windows Vista specific)

Hope this helps,

Nathan C.

I had the same problem, here's what I had to do to fix it.

I recently switched to CA Security for anti-virus and firewall protection (provide by Time Warner). I went in and turned off CA's firewall protection (I turned Window's Firewall ON)and I was FINALLY ABLE TO DOWNLOAD MY MUSIC. To turn CA's firewall off:

1) Open CA Security Center (on the Task Bar or through the start button)
2) Click the "double-down" arrow on the far right of "CA Personal Firewall"
3) Click "Open Advanced Settings" under "CA Personal Firewall"
4) Click "Disable CA Personal Firewall"
5) Resume your downloads through iTunes
6) Re-enable your firewall

Hope this helps everyone who's encountered the same problem!

EcoTEC07,
Same problem with iTunes. Took the rick to shutdown firewall completely to download, but that didn't work for me. I activated Windows Firewall and then I was able to dload. Thanks for your help.
The most frustrating part of my whole experience was the lack of response from any of the application parties involved. It's just BUY/USE my product, but don't expect any help from us!!
