how do you download third party apps (widgets) onto the iphone?

i have a cool new iphone. when i go to http://iphonewidgetlist.com/ there are lots of cool 3rd party apps which i would like to download but i can't figure out how to download anything nor do i understand how to transfer said 'download' to the iohone. any ideas?

macbook pro 17", Mac OS X (10.4.10), have had lots of macs and ipods and now iphone over the years

What you're looking at are web pages, expressly designed to run on the iPhone Safari browser's miniature screen. "Weblets", if you will.

It is extremely unfortunate that people started calling them by the cute, but misleading name of "widget", since that really refers to something different.

Anyway, you're expected to either bookmark your favorite weblets, or at least bookmark one of the pages that act as home pages for your favorites.

(The latter are trying to look like the real Home page, which is where everyone wants these. And to tell the truth, it would make perfect GUI sense to let you place such a bookmark on your Home page, just as you can on a desktop. After all, the idea is to hide from the user what/where/how something works. But the iPhone is obviously still very much a work in progress.)
