Wont let me download my pre-order

I pre-ordered T.I.'s new CD and when I tried clicking on Check For Purchases, it says "All purchases have been downloaded for this account", and when I try checking my account, it tells me "You have one or more pre-orders available", so I click ok, and it tells me "Purchase of this item is not currently available, this item is being modified. Please try again later." Is there any way I can fix this? Or, is there another way I could download it? When I pre-ordered this I had the intention of being able to download it the day it came out, and if not, thats the last thing I'm buying from itunes.

You can try to cancel the pre-order. If you're successful, then you can just buy the album off iTunes. To try to cancel your pre-order--when you're in the iTunes Music Store, click on "account" in the upper right column--enter your password/etc. and then when the box opens there should be a pre-order section. See if you can cancel your order for this album. If you can, then just buy the album available in iTunes.

One word of caution--were you supposed to get anything special by pre-ordering the album? Extra tracks? Concert ticket preference? If you want these special favors/DON'T CANCEL YOUR PRE-ORDER--You won't be able to retrieve the special items if you do.

No--this is EXTREMELY RARE! There has to be a major problem with the bonus download!

I can't understand why Apple won't let you guys get the available download and then give you a "make good" for the bonus download--but...I'm not Apple, so all I can say is sorry and hang tight...if you get the bonus somg (that's not available any other way) then the wait is worth it!

Hmmm, I'll try to help...but I'm truly not someone "who knows what is going on and when it might be resolved".

However, you can always send feedback to Apple. To do this, when you're in iTunes click on the store, and then "Support" in the upper right-hand corner. When the support box opens, choose "Download Problems" from the middle of the page (unless you have a better idea!) and then scroll to the bottom of this page and use the email link to let "someone who knows what is going on" know what is going on!

Well I am having the same problem with the same CD. I emailed apple and got a personal response so here it is:

Dear Tim,

I understand that you have been unable to download your preorder of "T.I. vs. T.I.P." due to a message stating that the item is being modified. I apologize for any inconvenience this issue may have caused you.

Apple is currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.

Thank you for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible. Have a safe and wonderful 4th of July!

Sincerely,

Callie

I've had no luck downloading the preordered album...but i did just get an email from apple, but it only stated the obvious solutions to starting the preordered download but did not address the fact that when we try to download we get the "purchase not currently available message"...

Here's the email:

Thank you for using iTunes. My name is Jason and I am sorry you have been unable
to access your pre-ordered item. I can confirm that your pre-order was processed
and it shows as being unfulfilled.

Let's try following these steps I have provided below.

To download your purchase, open the notification email you received from the
iTunes Store and click the link. iTunes will open and prompt you to check for
available preorders in your account waiting to be downloaded. Sign in, click the
Check button, and proceed with the purchase. If you prefer to download the album
later, click Not Now.

If you can't find the notification email, be sure to check the email address
that is associated with your iTunes Store account. Also check to see if your
email client or Internet service provider (ISP) blocked or filtered the email as
spam or junk mail.

If you didn't receive the notification email, follow these steps to download the
preordered album:

1) Make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded
free of charge from the Apple website at:

http://www.apple.com/itunes/download

Note: Installing the latest version of iTunes will not affect your library or
any items in your account that you haven't downloaded.

2) Open iTunes.

3) From the pull-down Store menu at the top, select Check for Purchases (if
you're unable to upgrade and are using iTunes 6 or earlier, you'll find this
option in the Advanced menu). If you can't find this option, you can also click
this link to Check for Purchases:

https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/checkForPurchases

iTunes will see that the album you preordered is available. You can proceed with
the download of your preordered album or click Not Now and download it later.
iTunes will also download any items waiting in your account.

If you no longer want this preordered album, you can cancel it and purchase the
regular version of the album (please be aware that some bonus material is
available only with the preordered version). To view or cancel a preorder,
follow these steps:

1) Open iTunes.

2) If you are already signed in to the iTunes Store, skip to step 4. From the
pull-down Store menu at the top, select Sign In.

3) Enter your account name and password then click Sign In.

4) From the pull-down Store menu at the top, select View My Account.

5) On your Apple Account Information page, click Manage Preorders.

6) On the Manage Preorders page, you will see a list of the items you preordered
and their expected release dates. Click the Cancel button next to the preorder
you wish to cancel. Click the Back to Account button, then click Done.

If you continue to experience an issue please reply back so that we can continue
to investigate this for you.

Sincerely,

Jason

It's been 73 hours since I first tried to get the album. It went from not on the list, to 9, to 5, to 3, to now the No. 1 cd and I still do not have it. The bonus track had better be pretty good. Maybe I can get a live performance at my house?

Does anyone from the company read these threads? All I have gotten in response to email is canned crap responses that suggest they are not really on top of this one.
