Naming Busses for individual song (not universal)

Hi.

I want to name my busses differently for a number of templates. When i name the busses to say MPC1 on input 11 it appears as MPC1 on input 11 on every logic song. I want to create different templates with different busses named differently.

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Thanks, Ben

I think Ben is right, it's a program level i.e. preference change I believe. I am having the same problem trying to set up templates between numerous studios. We have all agreed on a protocol but don't want to be tied to a single bussing template and wish to interchange files without endless read me files explaining the bus routing.

Another change for Apple to consider I hope.

I believe what the OP is referring to is the actual naming of the BUSS path, which can be changed in the Audio Configuration (I/O Labels)

Changing the I/O labels here is similar to what you do in PT in the IO Setup dialogue, except that it is universal to all projects in Logic instead of being project specific.

And there is no import settings, so you either have to continually rename in the Audio Configuration window every time you change projects which gets tedious, or there is some roundabout way in some preferences subfolder (HD>Library>Audio>Logic>etc....) where you can swap different preference files in and out depending on your project.

I know the frustration because different projects require different routing schemes etc and it can be hard to keep track of all of them.

Hopefully in the future this wont be so hard.

Here here Ford but unfortunately no workable solution at this point. So nice it is to scroll through your bus assignments and know exactly what delay/ reverb/ fancy limited output you are assiging to a knob.... so annoying that this isn't saved with the song.

IO setup is a nice plugs/ bus management tool but it is extraordinary that it is saved as part of preferences. In PT these files are sent to your IO setups folder as IO templates, really handy for handling different situations, i.e. Stereo Bus FX vs 5.1 Bus FX = for the latter: Delays, front/ rear, reverbs front and rear, side chained limiting vs the former: stereo based delays vs basic limiting, etc etc.
