Solved: WinXP-Crash after dis-/connecting iPod nano
I just got my new iPod nano (8GB). But from the the beginning, I had serious problems with it.
After disconnecting the iPod, my computer (Windows XP) crashed with a "blue screen of death"!! ;((
Event-Id: 1003 Source: System Error
Error code 1000007f, parameter1 00000008, parameter2 ba338d70, parameter3 00000000, parameter4 00000000.
I tried several things:
* set iPod to defaults
* updated iPod Fimeware (1.1.2 --> 1.1.3 )
* reinstalled iTunes (7.2)
* connected my iPod to different PC's (similar error)
* connected different iPod's with my computer (everything o.k)
--> in the end nothing helped.
So, I searched the web and according to "Adrian Grigorof" (Microsoft expert) it's faulty hardware (bad iPod device drivers). See:
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1003&eventno=1274&source=System&phase =1
So, I guess Apple's iPod is not yet 100% compatible with Windows.
Unfortunatelly, Apple's Repair-Service couldn't reconstruct the problem an sent me my iPod nano back faulty! ;((
Has anyone similar experiences with that???
