LaserWriter Pro 630 hooked up to Windows PC via ethernet

I have a wireless ethernet hub hooked up to my LaserWriter Pro 630 and I can print stuff from two different Macs but I have it set up to use AppleTalk.

I believe that it's possible to print to this printer using a Windows PC. But right now (like I said), I'm using AppleTalk. Can you connect to AppleTalk printers with Windows, or is there a different/easier way to do this? I don't believe that the LaserWriter supports printing to an IP but correct me if I'm wrong.

I want Macs and PCs to be able to print with this printer through ethernet.

You will need an Appletalk Printer driver. That printer does not offer LPR/LPD, but these do:

Apple LaserWriter Printers With Built-in LPD:

LaserWriter 8500
LaserWriter 12/640PS
Color LaserWriter 12/660PS
Color LaserWriter 12/600PS
LaserWriter 16/600PS
LaserWriter Pro 810

Since these printers support LPD, you can print from any LPR client (for example, LaserWriter 8.5.1) directly to the printer. In essence, the printer itself is an LPD print server.

Maybe this will help:

Maybe this will not help:

There may be related threads in this discussion area that describe how to get the components from a different version of Windows and transplant them into XP.

This thread for example:

To install AppleTalk protocol to Windows XP
Required files: (Get them from a system running Windows 2000 Professional or Server)
netatlk.inf, sfmatalk.sys, sfmmon.dll, sfmatmsg.dll, sfmwshat.dll, sfmpsprt.dll (You need to make hidden files visible to find them)
Copy the files to their respective places:
WINDOWS\INF\netatlk.inf
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\sfmatalk.sys
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sfmatmsg.dll
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sfmmon.dll
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\sfmwshat.dll
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\SPOOL\PRTPROCS\W32X86\sfmpsprt.dll
After restart the AppleTalk Protocol should now be available under the list of Protocols you can add in Network Connections - Location Area Connections Properties.
This is only good using AppleTalk printers attached to the network. After this is done the printer needs to be attached to the computer directly with a cross over cable or to a router/switch/hub that will pass Appletalk with a normal ethernet cable.
The AT printer will show up, if it's turned on, under Add Printer-Local printer attached to this computer - create a new port - AppleTalk Printing devices. Capturing the port is not required for being able to print.
If you are unable to get access to these Win 2000 files post an email address and I will send them to you.
