Accessing Home Server via iPhone?

Hello All,

I have a home server set up, and would to occasionally access it via my iPhone. Does anyone have any tips on how to make this happen?

Perhaps there is a tutorial running around out there on the internet?

Access your home server to do what, exactly? Unless it is to check an email server or a web server, there isnt much else you can do, like FTP, or telnet, or file access. None of that is opened up on the iPhone.

There have been occasions, mostly when out of town, I need to email files / burn DVDs.

Just the simple ability to browse the directories would allow me to help those that are going to take care of the request for me. I can then call them and let them know how to navigate to the file needed.

You would need to setup your server as a web server. Anything you can do with a web browser (well, almost anything) you can do with the iPhone. There is no command prompt, or File Explorer, or any other funcionality like that built into the phone.
