I have an old ibook m2453

The M2453 seems to be the Clamshell 300mhz iBook. You might want to consider spending the money you would on a new hard drive to upgrade to a secondhand iBook G4.

You can choose any ATA 2.5inch hard drive (not SATA!). These run at about $1.10/gb (40GB = $49, 100GB = $110). 800mhz iBook G4's seem to go for about US$500 on eBay.

Alex is right. If the iBook is running OS X 10.0, that needs to be upgraded, too, to a more modern version of the OS.

By the time you go to the expense of upgrading the hard drive and the OS, you're well on your way to the price of a better iBook.

If you're determined to keep the clamshell iBook going, you may want to try posting in the iBook (colors) Forum. (You have posted in the iBook G3 (Dual USB) Forum, the forum for the first all-white iBooks).
