Blue screen of death on a Mac??

Blue screen of death on a Mac??

My MacBook will not start up. It gets past gray/apple boot screen, goes to blue screen and then does nothing. Have already tried everything on this page: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=303234

Can anyone help me?

Have you tried booting from the install disks and doing a repair permissions on the Hard Drive?

sounds to me like a possible failed hard drive. when you go to disk utilities from the startup disk, do you see your hard drive? if not, that's most likely the problem.

That's happened to me twice now... very frustrating.

Yes, I do see the drive. One other thing of note, after I did the trouble shooting stuff from the Apple documentation, its now rebooting from that blue screen to black, and back to blue again....

Apple replaced my system as it was in and out of the shop since I bought it. I upgraded to a MBP for the difference. Great customer service!
