Need new Epson Scan app - where do I get one?!

After my finder crashed and I had to reinstall the OS, a few things aren't working. For example, Epson Scan simply didn't start. So I deleted it, and reinstalled the TWAIN drivers, but now I realize that it didn't come with the Epson Scan application that's necessary to actually scan things. Scan To File doesn't work, since I can't select a scanner in the menu for some reason, and I need Epson Scan. So where do I get a copy??

You can download the Epson software for your scanner from Epson's support and drivers site.

That's where I went to get the drivers, but I couldn't find Epson Scan. They didn't even have Scan To File; I had to get that from Version Tracker. I don't know if it's in one of the many driver packages they have up for download, and I don't have time to install all of them and check. Do you know exactly where it is there? The drivers are pretty much useless with out the Epson Scan utility...

There are likely a couple of different packages. One with drivers and one with the other software or it may be part of the one large download.

If you want you can try this instead: VueScan. It's compatible with a large number of scanners. You can check their web site to see if yours is included.

VueScan seems to work fine, and it says it's compatible with Epson CX3200, but I can't select that on the menu of scanners! So I can't really scan anything 'till then... Do you know how I could solve this?

I checked the Epson support site, it appears that there is a file for the scan utility available. It is seperate from the driver file for the printer. The Scan Utility is version 2.65.

Do you have the Epson driver installed? Is the scanner turned on? You may need to restart the computer after installing VueScan. Beyond that I would ask tech support at the VueScan site.

Well all I had to do was reinstall the drivers (again), and VueScan started working. I got a backup Epson Scan app too, just in case, but VueScan seems to be working fine. Thanks!

I purchased photoshop CS3 and it wont accept my r1800 epson printer or my
1250 epson scanner, unless i use Rosetta which compromises the cs3 and slows it down
i upgraded all the drivers and everything
does anyone else know about this and what i can do ?
