Garageband crashes

For some reason, garageband had begun to crash on startup. I open a project and everything comes up but then the wheel of death appears and garageband ceases to respond.. So far I have tried repairing permissions and deleating GB prefs - but to no avail. Any other advice out there? Thanks

yep, I deleated them both...same problem. It seem that the program open and runs as long as I don't touch it (like highlight a track or move the window.) If I just let it sit there and then go to force quit, it seems to be ok. The moment I try something like move the window or click on anything, wheel of death and I can watch the force quit window go to "not responding." This is strange becasue everything was working fine yesterday and last week. So, have I stumped you yet? I hope not....
