Computer keyboard as diatonic or chromatic accordion midi input?

The "Musical Typing" feature of GarageBand suggests enormous possibilities. First of all, I can't help but notice that much of a standard computer keyboard is similar in many ways to the right-hand button layout of a diatonic or chromatic button accordion. Variations of this folk instruments are used by Cajun, Tejano, Slovene, French, German, Irish, Italian as well as many other European musicians. These accordions usually have between 1 and 4 rows of buttons. With a diatonic accordion, each individual button plays one note when the bellows are pushed and another note when the bellows are pulled. In summary, each row is similar to a harmonica of a certain key.

I am looking for a way to remap my computer keyboard and use it as a midi input to GarageBand similar to the musical typing feature that now exists.

I can use Ukelele to remap my computer keyboard to match my Slovene accordion so when I press the shift key, the keyboard map shows the notes of each key (or button) when the bellows are pushed and when I release the shift key, the keyboard shows the note that each key (button) would play when the bellows are pulled.

Does anyone know of a way I could assign note actions to these keys and use this keyboard substitute for the "musical typing" feature that is now exixts?
