iPhone Not Completely Charging

I have left my iPhone overnight for the past three days in its charger. It charges, but does not charge completely (I would estimate 95%). I have tried both the cradle as well as the wall outlet. I have reset the iPhone and still it will not charge to "full." Further proof is the "time since last full charge" does not reset. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem. I first put the phone in Airport Mode for ten seconds. Then I recycled the power by simultaneously pressing the Home and Sleep buttons until the silver Apple icon appeared. when that came on I released the buttons. While the buttons are pressed the red power off slide will appear on the screen, but you need to keep the buttons pressed so just ignore it and the phone will shut off by itself. When the phone started up I charged it for a half-hour or so. Because I had almost a full charge before it didn't take long for the phoneto be fully charged showing the plug in the battery meter. If your battery is depleted it may take longer. I then checked Usage and it showed 0 Minutes instead of the -. You know, of course, that the wall charger is the best way to charge the phone, and that the phone has to be turned off during the charging process.

"If you do not turn the phone off you will only get a 95% charge because the phone is always working through the charge cycle."

That's not correct. I regularly charge my phone with the power on and have it charge the full 100% (i.e. full power bar and the small icon changes from lightning bolt to power plug).

I did have a problem getting a full charge at first, and then I did this:
Restored the iPhone.
Plug the iPhone into the wall via USB adapter.
To help speed the process, I turn off bluetooth and wifi while the phone is charging.

No problem getting a full charge now. I'm not sure what, if any, of this accounts for no longer having any trouble getting the full charge.

Apple store replaced my iphone today because I was not getting a full charge. would leave it to charge overnight, Green battery seemed 3/4 full but never fully charged. they replaced it today and i do see a full charge. Bring it back to the apple store if it does not fully charge but be sure to reset your iphone first before bringing it in. If it refuses to fully charge then by all means bring it in for a replacement.

I turned off my phone and used the wall charger last night for about 8 hrs. I woke up the next morning to shockingly find that my iphone was charged only about 60%! I reset the phone and kept it plugged into the wall for about another 2 hours to finally get it to charge fully.

All else fails, restart the phone by pushing the home and on/off button together until the phone shuts down (wait 8-10 seconds) and power up.

-Always charge with a wall charger.

There seems to be some serious bug with the battery meter that apple needs to address as lots of people are returning their phones for new ones.
