low volume after bouncing

I've been using LE 7 for a while now and there is one problem I can't seem to solve. I will mix my project and get it sounding just how I want it to, but for some reason after I bounce it to itunes it sounds a lot quieter. No matter how loud it is in LE 7, it sounds quiet in itunes. It sounds like the raw tracks are being bounced and none of the plug-ins or anything like that are being added to the tracks. When I normalize the tracks and add compression, they sound louder in LE, but when I bounce them to itunes there is no difference. They are still really quiet. I would appreciate any advice you could give me. I've been trying to fix this issue for long time.

thanks

I had similar issues when I first started to use Logic. Some tips I found helpful. Number one is the single most important thing to do.

1) Never let the metre go above red in any of the tracks before bouncing. Listen to the whole track from start to finish before bouncing and watch the monitor for the audio output track. Sometimes the composite of several tracks (but not each individually) can push the metre into red. If it goes red find the troublesome track element and either turn it down or apply a different effect to it. This is digital distortion and although you might not hear it in Logic (it seems to have an algorithm to correct it) when you export the song you will hear it and it gives the mix a horrible grainy sound in itunes and makes the whole mix sound awful.
2) Make sure if you export to itunes that the import settings are to the highest quality and that itunes is set to play songs using the best quality settings. Go through the menus and check them all.
3) Make sure the itunes volume is not set differently from logic (obvious one I know, sorry)
4) Make sure you use the highest quality bounce settings.

Hope that is helpful. Obeying rule number one has helped me enormously.
