Seal Between Glass And Chrome Is Peeling Back...

I noticed this morning as I was keeping my iPhone nice and shiny with the provided cleaning cloth that the rubber seal between the glass and the chrome accent is slightly starting to peel back on the bottom left corner...

It's only minor right now but if you gently run your finger over the imperfection the rubber shifts out of place every time...It's an issue that I think will only worsen with time I'm sure...Not to mention the imperfection is aesthetically unpleasing now that I've noticed it...

Is this something that the Apple Store would be willing to fix/replace under warranty and has anyone else had this issue?

Yea I hear what you're saying. But at the same time I'm not abou to risk dropping my iPhone just so I can look at it's prettiness. But I do undestand what you're saying. Would have been nice if Apple had included little rubber grips on the sides of the phone. Without them it's like trying to hold a piece of ice with oil on your hands.

So in someways it's not designed all that beautifully 😉

Do you use a case?

Most would agree that a case/holster for the iPhone is essential.

I haven't seen this symptom anywhere yet.

um, there's no rubber seal on mine at all where you are indicating...are you sure you didn't just accidentally leave the plastic protector on it?

It's a defect. It won't matter if it is minor, it could possibly get worse.

I would return to the Apple store and ask for a replacement.

I don't see them giving you a hard time. They have been replacing a lot of phones for much less than that kind of defect.

Let us know what happens.

What are you talking about? There is no rubber seal anyplace on my iPhone.

You probably don't see it because it's tightly sealed and nearly invisible when it's correctly applied...It's invisible everywhere else around the rim...

And yes...I'm positive the plastic protector isn't there...

It's not physically apparent on the phone...It's a thin seal between the glass and the chrome accent which you shouldn't see in the first place...

It's to prevent dust from getting under the screen...

Well then your phone is broken. Obvious thing to do is take it an Apple store and get it replaced.

Hi XxDevilR6xX;

I don't see anything like what you are describing on my iPhone. If it were my iPhone, I would take it back to Apple ASAP. Let them look at it and tell you what must be done.

Anyways...I just posted the thread because I'm not sure if anyone else has had this occurence...

And I wasn't sure if the Apple Store would have any issues over a return for this reason...

Outfitting your phone with a case should not be a solution. As much as I respect peoples decision to use a case; iphone, ipod, I find it funny to hear them talk about how beautiful the ipod is yet their player looks like . I mean, you don't see BMW drivers driving around with car covers, do you? You lose the aesthetic beauty of the product. Just a personal observation. Peace.

Why would you care if the problem was seen by anyone else? If your iPhone is broken, get it taken care of. Why bother us?
