Jabra JX10 pairs successfully but no audio

I go through what appears to be a successful pairing operation between my iPhone 8G and a Jabra JX10 (that worked fine with my previous phone). The pairing goes as expected --- headset shows up, takes the passkey, then the iPhone shows it as being paired, etc.

However, no audio travels to/from the JX10. The only thing I hear on the JX10 are the beeps indicating that it is connected, then the beep indicating a hang-up. But the phone call audio itself doesn't work. The iPhone acknowledges the JX10 --- adds it as an audio source, etc. But there's no sound, in either direction.

I've already contacted Jabra and I'm also still waiting for a response from them. Any help would be appreciated; thanks!

OK, that makes two of us at least. Maybe there are enough "me too"s then we can get someone on board who can dig deeper. 🙂

And yes, the Jabra JX10 is indeed displayed among the possible audio sources (the other two are iPhone and Speaker), and the speaker icon is definitely on the Jabra JX10, though no sound gets through the headset. Toggling to iPhone or Speaker lets the sound through, then toggling back to the Jabra JX10 cuts the sound again.

I also have an 8 Gig iPhone and a Jabra x10 headset and seem to be having the same problem, they successfully pair but no audio can be heard through the headset on my end and the person on the other end ot the line can not here me.

Mabey Jabra will relece some kind of firmware/software update or Apple might fix the problem with an iPhone update.

OK, that's one more "no audio" case (I think there are 4 or 5 now?), and one "works OK" case.

I finally found the time to sit on hold with Jabra technical support and (surprise, surprise) they said they'd never heard of this problem. They said they would get back to me once a "tech person" looks into it. I'll post something here as the saga develops.

I have the same issue and received this response from Jabra support (I won't have a chance to test and see if it makes any difference until Thursday):

Thank you for contacting Product Support.

You may need to do a complete reset and re-pair:

1. Turn the JX10 off.
2. Connect the AC charger or USB cable to a power source.
3. Connect the headset for 5 seconds. Disconnect.
4. Delete the headset from the phone Bluetooth menu. If the phone does not show the headset, just go to Step 5.
5. Turn the phone off.
6. Connect the phone to the power supply for 10 seconds. Disconnect.
7. Turn the phone on.
8. Turn the JX10 on by pressing and holding the phone symbol button until you see a blinking blue light. Release the button.
9. Put the headset into pairing mode by pressing down and holding the pairing button until you see a steady blue light. Release the button.
10. Perform the pairing procedure for the phone.

If the above procedure does not fix the issue, there is most likely a problem with the headset. I suggest replacing it. If the headset is within the retailer return policy, you can return it for another one. If it is outside the retailer return policy, but within the Jabra one year warranty from date of purchase, and you can provide a copy of the original sales receipt to be sent along with the defective product, we will replace it for you. Just let us know if you wish to obtain the replacement through Jabra.

There IS an updated ("Series II") version of the JX10 for compatibility with the iPhone. From Jabra Product Support:

+Thank you for contacting Product Support.+

+We are sorry to learn of the problem you are having with your JX10. If your headset is an authentic Jabra product, we’ll replace it with a JX10 Series II, which will work well with the iPhone. Please reply to this email with the following:+

+Cell phone make and model+

+Place of purchase of the JX10+

+What color is your JX10?+

+Does the pouch have a draw string?+

+What are the FCC, IC and manufacturing codes? All are located under the rubber gasket that goes around the speaker. The FCC and IC codes are stamped on the speaker directly above the charging socket. The manufacturing code consists of two numbers and a letter, and is stamped just above the button with the phone symbol on it.+

1. Online
2. Silver and black.
3. No drawstring. I have a Suede black pouch that has the metal squeeze type of opening....where you push both sides together and it opens like and oval.

i bought my jx10 over a year ago and it works just fine with my iphone....pairs up perfectly and havent had an issue yet......not sure which version it is but if you really need me to i can find the box and let you know the serial number or whatever else......
