AT&T will provide you a free SIM card by walking into one of their stores. I just did this the other day when my old one had had been mistakenly deactivated. It's very easy: they type the serial no. of the new SIM into your account and you're up and running in seconds. No charge and easy as pie.

I tried to enable this feature and now I have 2 attempts left. Anyone successfully use this feature?

Yeah, I just tried it and I turn it on, a number pad pops up and says 'Enter Pin to lock SIM. 2 attempts remaining. (I tried entering my own pin number).
I looked in the manual and it says nothing about the default PIN number.
Like you said, I'm afraid to try again in fear of locking my phone permanently.

I had the same concern. You have to turn it on and enter 1111. The phone will now ask for a new code and then a confirmation. That should get you set up. hope this helps Dan

You can never lock the phone permanently. If you do lock it, log into your att account online and click on the link to get a new PUK code. Enter that and it will unlock.
