Alesis io2 Audio Interface problems

Since the last update, ive noticed more lag, crashes and major problems with preferances not recognising certain audio interfaces, mainly my alesis io2,
How do we contact apple to help remedy this?
Ive re-installed osx and I stupidly forgot to back up everything, so I lost over 3000 songs, all my originals songs and every photo ive ever taken, so stupid of me.
I have an Alesis io2, and its not being recognised in the sound preferances, under utilities in applications, its says that it's online but the its only outputting sound, this has only happened since the last update, up untill that I had no problems at all, in fact it was perfect for i what i want to record.
Ive contacted Alesis, and they have not acknowledged my email and there is NOTHING on their website that addresses this issue. I really hope apple has a remedy, because if they dont, the io2 is rendered useless to me and i will have to fork out another couple of hundred bucks for another interface.
So **** off, and im really sick of singing Apple's praise's.
No Longer a fan. GRRRRRARGH

Anyone who has a "fix" or any info on this...at all.

We are a bunch of users just like yourself trying to help out others.

You forgot to back up. Enough said.

We cannot even begin to help you solve your complaint with Alesis.

What exactly do you need fixed?

I dont know what i need fixed, however since the last update there are a plethora of people who use an alesis io2 audio interface, and we are all frustrated that its now not being recognised in the sound preferances, it was working fine up untill the last update, now its rendered useless. Its frustrating because their not cheap pieces of equipment, upward of $250, so untill apple decides to remedy the flaws (which i cant specify because im a musician not a geek) We will be forced to fork out more money for another interface, it *****, it really *****. and who knows if there will even be a "fix" in the next update, im growing increasingly over macs, since i got mine last year, it just seems to cost more and more money to get add on's and programsetc they are difficult and expensive to find, even having to pay $400 for the apple help line to answer ANY question is just ridiculus.

I want to make a complaint to apple it self. Do you know of a direct email?

Also, how i can revert back to an earlier version of osx? That seems to be my only option, as the audio interface was fine before the last update.

Hi Edirol-

I know it is frustrating, but apparently Apple is working on it.

Does this link: Mac OS X 10.4.10: No sound from some FireWire audio interfaces help at all?

If you want to revert to an earlier version of the OS, you can perform an Archive and Install and then use the 10.4.9 combo updater and stay there, don't update to 10.4.10.

The interface i use, and many other's use Is not a firewire interface.
Its a usb, no driver interface

cieved these emails in response to my queries about Alesis io2:

Never mind what I said a moment ago. It's evident that the computer is not even seeing the device. This is a driver issue. The easiest solution is going to be to revert to an earlier version of the system. Sorry about that. (macfixit.com)

And this from the ALESIS manufacturer:

Hi,

We are aware of a conflict between the Alesis IO/2 and the Mac OSX 10.4.10
on the Intel Macs. We are currently in talks with Mac to find a solution to
this.

anyone else who may like to inform .mac about their irritating interface or sound bugs, I implore you all to make a complaint about it, maybe then they will get off their bums and do something!

his is a problem I have been dealing with for the last 3 weeks. I have had to re-install Mac OS X at least 3 times to figure out that it was 10.4.10 that was causing the problems. I realized it is both Alesis and Apple that have made mistakes in communicating back and forth on getting this issue resolved. As for me, I am absolutely furious that I cannot use the new 10.4.10 update with my i0|2. I have about had it. What I am doing now is using an 10.4.7 to record all my music, why I must remain downgraded because of the ignorance of this problem is beyond me.

I just want whoever is having this problem as well know that I am just another ANGRY Apple customer right now.

I have osx 10.4.6 and it doesn't work too.
It seems that My behringer IAXE 393 USB Guitar worths all the money after all , because it works just fine.

If Alesis treats the buyers like this it means that they don't need buyers ain't?
What about other buyers?
I propose to make a list of all the buyers on this discussion.
