Pink tint on iMAC flat display

My computer screen, all of a sudden, turned a reddish/pink tint. Does anyone know why this has happened? Is there a way to adjust this or would it mean that my computer is about to crash?!! I have an iMAC, System MAC OS X, 10.2.8.

Thanks

Hello, cd1014.

Take a look at these two links to posts in the Category: iMac (Flat Panel). The Forum is named: The iMac (Flat Panel) Display.

Screen has a pink wash over it. It is 3 pages in length.

It is possible that what you are experiencing is a hardware problem and is not related to OS X 10.2.

If, after trying some of the solutions posted in those two "The iMac (Flat Panel) Display" Forum threads, I suggest that you contact an Apple Authorized Service Provider in your area. Here is a link for your reference.

Yes, that is confusing at times. The short answer to this is that Apple Discussions is organized by Categories. One cannot post a new topic in such a broad overview area.

Instead, it is necessary to select a specific Forum under one of the Categories in order to have access to the Post New Topic option..

Thanks for tuning me into these forums. Looks like several people have had this problem. Took my iMac to the Apple dealer tonight for a diagnostic checkup. The first technician noted it may be a problem with the neck of the display and then another technician said it was a different problem which was caused by a part in the bottom of the computer which had to do with the video component. I asked what may have caused it and he said could be heat or a surge of electricity from a storm. He said it would have cost over $700.00. Of course I opted not to have it fixed. I question the diagnosis and feel Apple should address this as so many people have had the same problem. I will write them. Thanks again.
