So I bought my first Macbook on June 11th and right away I noticed that my old intel iMac held a strong signal but the Macbook would go back and forth between 3 and 4 bars. Of course when it goes down to 3 bars the speed gets very slow. I finally got Apple to give me a replacement laptop today but the problem still exists. I have tried changing channels and moving around the house to different locations but my old powerbook still gets a perfect signal while this one cannot seem to hold. I would apprciate any help.

I find it hard to believe that lightening would strike you twice (that you got two bad airport cards in a row). Have you tried toggling on 'interference robustness'?
I agree that I don't believe it is the airport card but just as I am typing this the signal dropped again so I unchecked the interference robustness and still the same problem. Can anyone think of anything else that I could try to boost my sagging signal?
Well I really dont think it is a hardware problem. The internet is rock solid on my powerbook g4 and on my two iphones and my ps3 so if all those work correctly there must be something wrong in the software on my macbook. Should I change to a different version of airport. Maybe a earlier update?
