Hello,

iTunes freezes everytime I try to hit "refresh" button in podcast folder.

It just starts updating all the podcasts I subscribed to and freezes... and nothing happens.

Any suggestions?

I have been on the computer for 8 hours the last 2 days (with tech support via New Delhi, India for 2 hrs yesterday) and the files, updates, even restart from an earlier date to no avail. I received an email from apple saying to delete the itunes and quicktime applications and then re-install them, which was done and still no go. When I log onto itunes, since I subscribe to daily podcasts that automatically update, it immediately freezes. I hit ctrl/alt/delete and go into task manager and get "not responding". I emailed itunes support again and told them everything I have done and their suggestion to me was "go into the discussion room & see if anyone can help you" Are you believing this????????? HELP ANYONE!!!!!!!

I had exactly the same problem. I have had itunes, ipod, and apple for one month.

I assumed it to be a computer problem and did three things.

    1. I deleted my podcast subscriptions and library.

    2. Unchecked allow multiple downloads under Ipod device downloads.

    3. And resubscribed to ipod broadcasts one at a time.

Now downloading one podcast at a time.

How did you delete your Podcast subscriptions and library when your iTunes was frozen? I am having the same issue and cannot do anything in iTunes.

For this instance iTunes only freezes when you hit "Refresh" to check for ipod subscription downloads. And if you restart iTunes without your ipod connected it may not try to refresh and download automatically.

I think that was the sequence.

And of course right clicking on the subscription or library item will give you a delete choice.

You can delete multiple items by holding down ctrl and left clicking and highlighting each item, then right click to delete.

I am having the exact same problem. Installed latest iTunes update. If I try to download more than one podcast at a time iTunes freezes entirely. I can't even select multiple podcasts to queue to download. Literally have to select one at a time to prevent freezing. I just got the new Apple TV which is great for video podcasts but now I can only download one at a time!

These latest updates have shown bugs. Though Apple says the vast majority is having no problems.

Three updates later my "new" Nvidia driver still crashes Explorer so I rolled back to an earlier driver.

Apple and Nvidia both know it is the latest Nvidia drivers so how long this bug will go on is up in the air too I guess.

Downloading one podcast at a time.

    Thanks for the feedback.

My iTunes updates (and freezes) automatically when I open it, so I can't do ANYTHING with it. Is there a way to turn off the automatic update another way than opening iTunes on my computer?

All I can think of is reinstall iTunes.

I'm having a similar problem. I purchased a brand new HP Pavilion Media Center last week (8/10) and installed the latest iTunes (v7.3.2.6). Basic functionality was fine until I started setting up all my podcasts. If I subscribe to them too fast (ie - click subscribe on 6-10 of them within 10-20 seconds), the whole UI completely locks up and I have to hard boot the computer. Last night I refreshed my podcasts while reading email and the whole computer locked up again.
