can't rid my excite home page of sudden unwanted audio

in the past few days an audio clip from a Bush speech on Iraq plays every time i go to my (Excite) home page. Maybe this is an excite problem, but i'm hoping someone can tell me how to end it in Safari.
I'm not aware of any software installs coinciding with the onset of this problem. I've quit and restarted safari. i've emptied safari's cache. i've restarted the computer. the problem occurs in both user areas on my Mac.
Any ideas how to get rid of the sound bite? someone said it's an embedded flash audio. but they didn't hae any suggestion for how to find it, much less how to remove it.
i'd appreciate any help. I emailed Excite, of course, but haven't gotten a response.
thanks
terry

thanks.

i might have solved it: although i had scrolled thru the page earlier looking for clues before and found none, today i noticed new audio playing and scrolled down to find a video link open, that associated with the audio. I edited my home page to open without that video link, and on at least one restart neither the audio nor the vid has opened. I hope this solves it, and i mention this in case anyone else has the same problem.

i've had excite as my home page for years and have it customized to my satisfaction so simply abandoning it wasn't an attractive alternative.

thanks for your help
terry
