I think you guys are really missing the point of the iPhone. Apple wants the iPhone to be simple so that it can appeal to the widest audience. Most people don't want to deal with a phone that has a gazillion different features and configuration options. I'm shocked that people don't get this. I'm also shocked that people don't read about the iPhones features before dropping $600. I love the fact that the phone is simple and elegant.

Umm most of these smart phones already have that. Like my Treo, and I can load what I need if its missing. I think the problem here is that Apple was a bit ambiguous on the iPhones true nature. Clearly, it should have been stated that the iPhone is tiered to consumer use when compared to other smartphones and should never be applied for business or any type of productive activities that generate income for you or the business you work for.

A co-worker of mine said this was almost a deal breaker for him too. He does promotions for club events he goes to and typically would send out a text message for promotions of events to 60-100 people at a time. He maintained groupings on his old phone and sent them out. The ability to hit "return" and enter additional recipients is not actually something that would make the use more complicated, it would still be as simple as it is now.......

Personally I don't care, I seldom text, but for the heavy texters this is a big one and I can appreciate that.

I agree that simplicity is a strength in the design, as with all apple products: There aren't a ton of buttons to mess with, but if you can make/merge calls with multiple people, why not allow texting to multiple people? It's not that complicated and they wouldn't be adding more physical features to the phone. By that rationale, they should have removed the option to not only merge calls but force people to email one person at a time as well.

Someone already answered this in another post, try doing a search for it. They made a contact list in outlook, added the contacts to the "group" then resynced their iphone... used the group contact from the contact list... and it supposedly worked... i haven't tried it yet... but planning to tonight, just for giggles.

Hope this helps..! and works... :O)
