Can't hear "you've got mail" on aol.com

I'm not sure why I even care about this, since I hate the ****** voice, but I feel like I should know WHY, when I open my aol e-mail account, I don't hear it tell me I have mail, or hear any of the sounds (like a ping for incoming mail when the browser is open) that I hear on my PC.

I've browsed through the boards and tried other fixes for not hearing internet content, but none are working. I can hear other stuff just fine; it's only the mail that's giving me a sound issue.

Any fixes for this? Thanks much. Enjoying the conversion but have to say that when you're used to how to go behind the scenes in Windows and fix stuff, and you don't quite know your way around the Mac, it gets frustrating. Who knew that simplicity could cause such angst?

You're Welcome FlippedOver!

"...there's quite a bit of unopened mail."

As I Previously Posted, "You will only hear You've Got Mail, when the New Mail folder is empty, and a new mail arrives.".

Also, open the AOL Preferences > General: Is Play event sounds... checked?
