Hey everyone I have a few questions. I am in the process of purchasing a MacBook(the black one) to replace my eMac. I'm just wondering if there are any retail stores that I could sell my eMac's parts to including the keyboard/mouse. The computer is in very good condition and its parts are all functional. If anyone knows how I can get it off my hands and raise some green for the new MacBook that would be great.

eMac Mac OS X 10.3.4, Mac OS X (10.3.4)

Hi Sandler and welcome to Apple Discussions,
I have never heard of Apple retail stores or CompUSA types of stores offering that, but Apple does recycling of your old computer, but you don't get money for it. Maybe an Apple reseller would do that or an indipendent computer store, but probably not.

Try posting it on Craigslist ( http://www.craigslist.org/) in your area, and see if anybody is interested. Or eBay would be another option. Best of luck.

Sandler, if the keyboard is in good shape (and not filthy) I would be interested in buying it. Mine got ruined by a spilled drink and I am currently using my old CRT iMacs small keyboard (which lacks a few keys like the CD eject button). Let me know off list at Westford97-54g at Yahoo.com
(note to moderator: email address is a throw away one that can be trashed if too much spam, so no worried about posting it here.)
To the other poster asking about personal information on the hard drive. Does the computer still work OK? If so you might consider FreeCycling it. But anyway, you can format the drive in Disk Utility and while in there you can pick the Zero all data option. It will take a LONG time to format but will kill all data. You have to boot off your install/restore CD/DVD in order to be able to format the internal drive.
