Glass shattering transition?

I'm working on a project in which the client wants the effect as if the screen were shattered. Specifically, he wants the image to 'crack' into several pieces which then fall down to the bottom of the screen.

Does anyone know of a transition within FCP (or an available plug-in) which would reproduce this effect? I could probably do it in AE if I wanted to spend all night on it, but I felt sure someone, somewhere must have put a plug-in together.
