Cd Burner not working

Ok. I need some help with a problem that involves iTunes not being able to burn cds because an error message pops up in the small window where information about importing and all of the info for playing your music is found. Whenever i try to burn a cd, it says "Cd Burner or software not found". Also, right before iTunes opens up a warning box pops up saying "Warning iTunes cannot import or burn cds or dvds because the software is not in the same directory as iTunes". I've run cd diagnostics and it says virtual drives might screwing stuff up but i highly doubt it. I can use my disc drive to burn using a program called "Burrrn" but the problem is that program wont burn any of my purchased music. I want to burn some of the complete u2 i have purchased! i also want to back up those purchased music files on cd. It's really frustrating me so if anyone can help me get the proper files that iTunes can recognize to burn again please help me!
