I carry my day-pack "sling" fashion over one shoulder putting a lot of stress on the top of that strap. Eventually it began to tear loose. $10 to the local boat upholstery shop (since they're used to working with nylon webbing) and not only was it repaired, but they really beefed up the attachment point and I think I'm good for a long time.
The NeoCase is a great protector of the MacBook's finish but it wouldn't do much for it in a drop nor would most any sleeve. Still, I hold onto it tightly when it's out of the day-pack and I've been lucky enough never to have dropped or severely bumped a laptop in my close to 10 years of traveling with them.
