My ipod mini is all messed up. I need help please

Ok, first started as I play my ipod mini in my car. The songs would start skipping. So I did hard reset numerous times, nothing. I then downloaded new songs and they were on itunes. I plug my ipod in and they wouldnt go on it. Next I know EVERYTHING on my ipod is gone!!! I updated itunes, restored everything. My songs are still in intunes but they will NOT sync with my mini at all. There are still no songs on my ipod. I have a ipod mini 4gb with about 480 songs on itunes. They were all on my ipod until they vanished. Any help is appreciated please.

the exact same thing happened to mine.i plugged it into my computer to simply synch a podcast and it said it was syncing all these songs i already had on there. then it said that the ipod couldnt be synched becausei didnt have access (or something along those lines). i ejected it and then plugged it back in because i saw that it had deleted several of my songs from the ipod. this time when i plugged it in, it made a playlist my itslef that was called beths ipod selections and contained just about all of my songs. when i ejected it a second time i looked and that was the only playlist available for me. even the playlists that come automatically on there such as top rated and recently added were gone.so i opened itunes, deleted that playlist (hoping it would bring my old ones back) and plugged in the ipod. this time when it said the ipod was ready to be ejected a message popped up saying that my songs couldnt be synched because there were no playlists or something.

now, on the left side of my itunes i can still see all of my playlists and when i click on them i see that they are full of songs. when i click on just the music button, it still shows me as having 1004 songs. i would really like to know what is going on. if anyone knows, please fill me in.

ok, wait. scratch all of that. i just went through everything on my itunes as thoroughly as i could a came across something. when it added the playlist itself, it also set it to be the ONLY playlist to show up. therefore when i deleted it,there were no playlist set to be added to my ipod. we may not be having the same problem, but if we are. when you plug your ipod in and go to the page where it shows you how much room you have left and such, at the top, click on the tab that says music and make sure the box that says "sync all playlists and song" is checked.

im terribly embarrassed that i didnt check a bit more thoroughly before i freaked out on the boards, but im only a teenager, and unfortunatly my world tends to revolve around what im listening to. when i looked at my ipod and it said all my songs had basically self combusted, i spazzed. it happens, sorry to have wasted board space.
