iPod dropped in water.

So I dropped my ipod in the water and I waited for like a week before I messed with it, it started working for a little bit, I could click on the songs and move around but then the next morning I couldn't even turn it on. It wont even come on. When I go to charge it, it does, but the buttons will not work at all. I have no idea what to do.
