Photoshop CS is taking FOREVER to open. HELP!

Do you have a lot of downloaded brushes, patterns, etc. in your presets folder? Because when I had this program called GIMP, I had like tons of brushes and it would take 5-10 minutes for it to load, it was stuck on loading brushes. Maybe this is similar? If this is the case, try removing some things for faster loading.

How much hard disk space left on your macbook?

Try to repair permission by opening application folder > utilities > disk utility > repair permission.

Use third party software like machelpmate or onyx to optimize your HD might help too.

Worst scenario, delete your photoshop using appdelete and reinstall it, and repair permission after that.

You might want to try turning off that startup screen in preferences which is default when the app opens. I used to have problems with dreamweaver and flash and those start menus, as soon as i turned them off the apps would launch fine.

Where do you find that option? I can't find any preference pane in Adobe PhotoShop CS to disable the startup/splash screen.

Have you tried re-installing it or going to adobe page???¿?¿? it may be better than a mac forum
