No iPhone Receipt

Hmmmm. If you got it at an AT&T store, they should be able to give you another receipt. If you got it at an Apple store, maybe they can do the same.

From eBay? Probably not. 🙂

If by coverage you mean warranty coverage?
Yes, an iPhone is an iPhone.
The only catch is your warranty is based on your purchase date.
If in question make sure the iPhone is registered. This happens automatically after you activate your phone but if in doubt take it to an Apple store or call Apple support to make sure it is registered.

In most cases, retailers can provide a duplicate receipt for electronic equipment. That is usually only an issue if the product has not been registered. Registration with Apple occurs during the activation process.

You can check the status of your products registration, and time remaining on the warranty by entering your serial number in the bottom left hand corner of http://www.apple.com/support/

Ben, you're going to have to be more specific about WHAT coverage you are talking about? Cellular coverage? Warranty coverage? Suntan coverage? What coverage do you mean?
Obviously without a receipt you will have a harder time getting a warranty but anywhere you bought it (legitimately) should be able to give you some kind of confirmation of sale. I believe both Apple and AT&T keep that information in their computer records.

Why don't you ask one of them? Or even better, why aren't you asking where you bought the iPhone?

I previously answered how to check on the status of your coverage. If that shows no coverage you should contact the person you purchased it from for a copy of their receipt.

If you do not get the original receipt from the person that sold it to you then you will more than likely not be able to get any warranty support for it. This is one of the dangers from buying from eBay. You should contact the selller to have them give you the receipt.

I would still try to get the receipt. The only info on the receipt would show how it was paid for and serial number. No personal details though.

Very good. Glad that you were able to get that receipt. Most reputable eBayer's would include the receipt on a purchace such as this one. Glad your eBay seller happened to be on the up and up! I have never had any trouble with a purchace made on eBay, but you know what they say.... eBay is the *worlds largest fencing operation*.... a lot of stolen merchandise out there for sale! eBayer beware!
