Anyone having regrets buying the Iphone?

I am still not totally committed and considering other options.
I do really like a lot of the features but there are other things that bug me.
For example I miss how easy it was for me to get updated baseball scores on my sony I810.. one handed operation a couple of clicks and I had it.
I guess I would need to find a site that offers such info in a smaller package..
Let's face the full page web browser is nice when you need it but takes forever to download... Is there a way to get cut down versions of webpages so you can get what you need quicker?

Are there any other phones out there that have better features than the Iphone?

What about the balckberry curve?

No regrets for me either. I love the video and iPod like features, super quality. The email and browser are fantastic, the camera while basic has taken some nice pictures, etc...

If I had to pick one thing to change, it would be the inconsistant volume. Some things its fine, others it much to low.

I came from the BB Pearl which just about has the same features as the Curve and email is not HTML and all jibberish, the browser is not even close and the screen while nice is also not close to the iPhones. The BB's do have more options and basics the iPhone lacks.

YES!!, I had a Palm Treo 750 prior to switching to the iPhone. The iPhone does not have the minimum basics that should come with a phone particularly one with such a hefty price tag. Now, many will respond by saying we should haved researched all the features prior to buying such an expensive phone. Maybe they're right, however most who are dissatisfied could not believe Apple would have omitted these basic phone features. We assumed they were included. Had I not given my Treo 750 to a friend, I would have returned the iphone and taken the 10% restocking loss. The Treo 750 is a much better phone. I have decided to give Apple 6 months for software upgrades, otherwise i will take the loss and purchase a new Treo 750.

Absolutely not. I absolutely love the phone.

Although, my situation's probably different than others. Didn't have a Treo or a Blackberry, so this is my first entry into the "Smart Phone" territory. Also resisted many urges to buy an iPod, and now I know why my wife loves hers so much.

It's everything I hoped for and then some. Of course, if I had been using some of the other amazing phones out there, I might have a little let down, but I haven't, and this one works perfectly for me.

No regret at all, and that's despite the fact I actually resisted the idea of getting one, and even replaced my previous cellphone a couple of weeks before the iPhone was released.

In the end, we needed an additional phone in the household, so it was a choice between getting my wife another phone the same as mine, or her taking mine and me getting an iPhone. I had read all the hype, watched all the commercials, seen the QT of it's announcement and first demonstration and was neither impressed or excited to any degree.

Then I went to play with one for a while, and discovered that while it lacked a number of features many people might need (such as good PIM support or the ability to edit Word files) it hit the functions I needed almost exactly, and did it in a way that made it a very attractive proposition.

So I got one, and I would rate it very highly indeed. I don't think the price tag is excessive given the features and functions it integrates, and the price plan I have is actually $20 a month LESS than an equivalent voice and data plan for a Blackberry through other providers in my area. Like anything else though, and particularly something at this sort of price and above, those interested really should make sure it does what they need it to do before deciding to buy. Making an assumption that a feature would be present is just plain silly because no device has every possible feature, function and facility, so all are a collection of selected compromises where the user is responsible for determining if the product is the 'right' one or not.

All in all, it looks to me that the satisfaction rate is pretty high, and I think I can see why. That isn't to say the iPhone is perfect of course, just that it fills a rather unique position in the cellphone market - one which seems a fair number of people have been wanting to be filled. While it can never be suited to all, it would be hard to beat for those who actually bought it knowing exactly what it could do (and couldn't) before committing their money.

Have you used mlb.com or just type in ur teams name in safari, (redsox.com) and u just click on scores. It seems pretty quick and easy for me.

"I am still not totally committed and considering other options."

Of course there are people who regret buying the iPhone. there are people who regret just about everything. However, from anecdotes to research, people are overwhelmingly happy they bought it. I certainly am.

As for you, do whatever feels right. You shouldn't care what other people like or don't like. If everyone in the universe loved their iPhone and you didnt, return it. And if everyone hated it and you loved it, keep it. The one thing you shouldn't do is be so wishy washy, second guessing yourself, basing your opinion on what other people think, avoiding making decisions yourself. And clean up your room. 🙂

As the newly born iPhone ecosystem grows, there will be more and more sites that cater to its interface. Development has just begun, and the rate of new iPhone sites is increasing exponentially. Along with iPhone specific sites, there are already sites out there that cater to mobile phones in general but work well with the iPhone. For example, go to Google and choose the mobile version of its homepage and you will see what I mean.

You said you were interested in baseball scores. i am sure someone will eventually make a score site for the iPhone. I won't burden you with the obvious baseball metaphors, except for "build it and they will come." In the lifespan of the iPhone, we're just past the "build it" stage. The "they will come" stage is just beginning.

Quit equivocating!!!

It doesn't sound like you are asking a real question as much as looking for vindication for your purchase and innoculation from buyer's remorse. You are looking for confirmation rather than advice. And yes, you will get that here in the form of a chorus of happy campers sharing their joy. But really, why is that important? The world is full of choices. You made one, and given the 125 million google hits for iPhone and overhwlemingly positive reviews, buying one is not controversial. By keeping it you are not living life on the edge or even leaving base camp. But you already know this. It's a great laptop of a phone, you know you like it, you know you'll keep it, so just be happy with your purchase as you should have been from the moment you bought it.

MLB.com has a whole series of mobile features... though I realize they want to charge for some of the info (like you can have scores and game summaries text messaged to you). wap.mlb.com will give you a stripped down version of their website and the top link is scores.

http://www.albinoblacksheep.com/iphone/sports/ provides sports scores and is tailored for the iPhone.

http://pickleview.com/ also give you realtime stats and gameplay for your iPhone.

Search around... there are lots of cool web apps to bookmark for the info your need... and there's new ones added daily!
