When i have a play list up and click play the song shows up in the middle section, but nothing happens after that. What could be wrong?

something similar happened to me (the time would stay at zero and the diamond wouldn't move along the bar) - eventually fixed it by un-installing quicktime and itunes then re-installing the latest version.

Not sure if you've tried that already?

I am having the same problem. I have un-installed quicktime and itunes, re-booted and re-installed but am still having the same problem. I can play songs but sometimes when I select a song to play it doesn't work. The time meter stays put but the play icon changes to a pause icon. I can select another song to play but get the same results. I have tried to shut down itunes and re-start but again get the same result.

The only way around is to log off and log in again. But eventually I will get the same problem. It seems to be random as far as how many songs I can play before I encounter a problem, ie sometimes just 1 , sometimes several. I need help. I didn' seem to have problems with itumes 7.2.

I'm having the same problem. It's very very annoying.

I also have the same problem. It just plays some songs but then it suddenly stops when clicking on a new song (stops at 0:00) (like pause).
If anybody knows a solution, then I would be very grateful. I have loaded latest 7.4 software.

Same problems on my computer- Vista Ultimate-Pentium Celeron 2.4 Ghz, 1.5 MB Ram
IDE hard drive- ATi graphic card

I found out that Itunes stops as soon as another program or action is running on the computer while Itunes is running. It happens if you pause Itunes or if you manually select songs to play. As long as a song is playing no problem but as soon as it has finished, it won't play another song anymore. This indeed has all to do with the Itunes 7.4.2 update. Hope and trust that Apple will resolve this with most urgent speed. I supposem that they don't like to loose customers for their store.

Windows XP SP2 - iTunes 7.4 and 7.5. A song will start playing, and within 40 seconds will stop. No other song will start. Nothing short of logging out and logging back in will allow playback, but then the same thing happens.
