Dashboard icon on Dock disappeared

Question

Dashboard icon on Dock disappeared

I accidentally deleted my Dashboard icon from the dock and can't figure out how to get it back. I tried finding it in Finder, but I can't find it in Applications (maybe I'm not looking in the right place).

I can still get to the Dashboard with mouse clicks, but would like the icon back as well.

Can anyone help?

Hi, Main HD->Applications->Open the Dashboard App-> when Open right click the icon & select Keep in Dock...L

Help!

Did I miss something! For some reason my right click dosen't allow me to do that with the Dashboard icon, allthough I can drag a new copy of the Dashboard to my Dock?

Edit: I got it right click the icon in the dock not the one in the app folder!

Hi, Open it 1st, then right click to keep in dock.. maybe your 2nd button on your MM needs reseting..System Preferences->Keyboard/Mouse->Select Mouse->right hand drop down box-> select->Secondary Button..L

I can't find my Dashboard App anywhere. In my list of Apps, I have:

...
Comic Life
Dictionary
DVD Player
...

No "Dashboard". Any suggestion where it may have gone?

Try a Spotlight search: Blue Magnifying Glass (top righthand corner) and type in dashboard.

Thanks for the hint on the spotlight search. I found 5 items:

System Preferences: Dashboard and Expose'
2 Documents
1 PDF file
1 Bookmark (this thread)

I have no idea where it could have gone. Like I said...I still get it with all my widgets.

Go to: "Apple / System Preferences / Accounts" are you logged into your Admin. account or other?

Return to default desktop, apparent "loss" of home directory

Hi, it should show as an APP. I cannot understand why if you have Dashboard & all your widgets and you open the App it does not show in your Dock. If you find it in Spotlight click on the APP section - Dashboard and on the far right is a small - i - click on that and it will tell you where it is located on your computer..L
