how do you add a hyper link to a image in a email

on my outlook, i can insert a image and simply right click on that image and add hyperlink, so when someone gets the email the image is show in the email page, plus if you clicked anywhere on the image you get linked to that webpage.

Can you do this on a Mac?

Mac OS X (10.4.10)

Hello,

This question was asked nearly two years ago! Like the original questioner, I have searched and searched for instruction for hyperlinking an image in mail.app. When I select the image in the body of an email and go to the edit menu to add a hyperlink, the link simply replaces the photo. When I cntrl/click on the image, there is no option to add or edit a link.

Can someone assist? Or confirm that this simple task is not possible in mail.app? Or suggest a plug in?

thanks!

I have been searching how to do this for weeks. I'm so glad to find someone knows how to do it, but, when I click on "Edit Hyperlink" -- I don't have an "Add menu option" come up. The windows "Enter the Internet address (URL) for this link" comes up. When I type in the URL, the picture turns into the url underlined and in blue. I have tried with a jpg png and a gif file. I'm using Tiger OX 10.4.10.

Thanks for any help in advance.
