Widget clock is not showing correct time

Have you tried removing the widget from the dashboard and then dragging it out again? If not, try that. If the problem persists, drag another instance of the clock widget out onto the dashboard, set it for another location and see if that clock shows the same symptoms.

If the problem persists, remove all instances of the world clock from your dashboard. Next, launch Activity Monitor and look at the list of running processes. Verify that "World Clock DashboardClient" does not appear on the list of running processes. If it does, use Activity Monitor to quit it.

Then delete the preference file for the widget. To do so, go to your home folder and choose 'Library.' Then choose 'Preferences' and scroll down to the bottom. You'll see a file called:

"widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist"

Delete it. Now, open Dashboard, drag a new clock onto it and verify that the problem is solved.

Are you sure you looked in the correct library?

If you were in the system library instead of your user library, you would not have seen the preference file.

I have been having the exact same problem. All instances of world clock widget are showing wrong time (4 hrs ahead actual time), and I cannot fix it. I too did not find any world clock preference file in the preferences folder (no widget-com.apple.widget.worldclock.plist is present). i am sure i looked in the right directory. I deleted the preference file called com.apple.dashboard.plist and restarted the computer. My dashboard settings were lost, but the clock problem remains.

Just realized that the preference file gets created if the widget is loaded on dashboard, and gets deleted on its own if the widget is not there. Even if i delete the preference file while widget is loaded, the same problem remains.
