converting movie format for iPhone

I can't get my movie clips to my iPhone. I use a Sony 403 with mini-DVDs. I use Picture Package software to copy my movie clips from the mini-DVD to my Windows XP PC. I purchased Quicktime Pro, believing that this program could read the movie clips from my hard disk, so I could convert the clips to iPhone format. However, when I try to open the movie clip, Quicktime Pro displays a message that it does not recognize the format. In my Windows Explorer, when I right-click on the movie clip, and then on Properties, the Type of File is "Movie Clip". When I change "Open With" to "iTunes" the Type of File changes to MPEG. I welcome any help.

Try using this software to convert the video.

For some reason the "Host" seems to think that recommending any software (other than Quicktime) for video conversion is a violation of the terms of service...even though in your case you want to convert video you created and own yourself. Go figure. There are plenty of programs available. Just Google the terms "video conversion software" or "dvd conversion software". You'll find what you need, no reason to name them here.
